It’s believed the caravan failed to navigate a turn and flipped, trapping the elderly couple.

Heart-stopping footage has revealed the moment a driver and his passenger were hauled from their vehicle after a caravan crash on WA’s South Western Highway.

The rescue of the pair, both believed to be in their 80s, was captured on a police officer’s bodycam just 90 seconds before the wreck exploded on the highway near Harvey on the morning of March 12.

The rescue of the pair, both believed to be in their 80s, was captured on a police officer’s bodycam just 90 seconds before the wreck exploded on the highway near Harvey on the morning of March 12.

“Is there anyone in the car?,” Constable Reece Josemans is heard calling as he runs towards the crash around 10.30am.

“There’s two people in the car!,” an onlooker calls back frantically.

Josemans is seen ripping a panel of shattered glass off of the vehicle, with flames already spreading on the exterior.

“Undo your seatbelt. We’re going to rip you out!,” Josemans yells to the passengers.
